Good for a sandbox game July 29, 2010 Alex This game was fun, and it was great to see these characters again, but there were three main problems:
I just couldn't swallow the story. It's so intertwined at key points with the Godfather story, and yet in the movie/book, we never hear or see any of this stuff going on? I would have preferred they distance the stories to make the game's seem more plausible.
And whenever any male character is talking, he will eventually do this little belly-scratching animation. Is someone under the impression that....that's what Italian people do? Constantly touch or scratch their stomachs?
And of course, Michael is not Michael. Most of the characters look and soundy pretty good, but because of Al Pacino's likeness already being owned by somebody else, Michael Corleone looks and sounds totally wrong.
Aside from these nitpicky things, the game is fun, provided you like Sandbox-type games. They throw you in the middle of the city with hundreds of other people, and you can do whatever you want inbetween key events. You can kill people, you can extort people, you can talk to hookers, you can buy stuff, you can steal cars...And of course, it's all set in the 40s-50s, so everybody's wearing nice clothes and hats.

Very entertaining October 4, 2009 David Bar (Ventura, CA) Buying this game I knew it wouldn't be the best game ever made but I was very pleased with the purchase.
This game is hours of fun and the storyline is simple
If you want a fun game to just sit down and relax for a weekend this game is the one
Worth the purchase June 30, 2009 Matt Belt (Saint Louis, MO) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Addictive game, though mildly repetitive. There's enough variety of missions and side missions to keep you entertained. The graphics are a definite improvement on the PS2 version, and look great on my plasma screen. Gameplay is easy to figure out and driving is fun, especially over civilians :) Basically Grand Theft Auto with a little touch of class
Great Story Driven Open World Adventure! April 12, 2009 Paul Michael Owens (Roxboro, NC USA) This has always been one of my favorite games. With dramatic gameplay in a time-based scenario it makes it so much more fun to be able to accomplish missions, favors, and hits at your own pace. Not being a Grand Theft Auto fan, this gives that experience a one-up because of the classy way the World is produced. This game will give you hours of fun. I've had it for 3 years now, and i'm only going through it for the second time!
I only had really a single gripe which is have the families fight back to make it a little bit more challenging, but it looks like they addressed that in Godfather II. Even though that game is now out, don't miss out on this game because the storyline is still great and fun!
